Dr. Nhat Pham (like “Fam-ily”, but with a “P”) is a compassionate and “Phamily”-oriented Pediatric Critical Care Physician based in Sacramento, CA. Dr. Pham returned to Northern California after a decade of training, driven by a heartfelt commitment to serve the community where he grew up.
His educational journey includes graduating Cum Laude from CSU Sacramento with a major in Biological Sciences and a minor in Chemistry. Then began his 10 year Southern California tour. He received Highest Honors by graduating top 3% of his class with a Doctor of Osteopathy medical degree from Western University of Health Sciences in Pomona. The osteopathic principles of treating the whole patient, rather than isolated symptoms remain core to the medical care he provides. Dr. Pham completed a rigorous three-year Pediatric residency at Loma Linda University Children’s Hospital. There he served as the first resident ever on the hospitals’ Patient Safety Committee, formalizing a patient flow process that improved bed admittance ability. His passion to provide care to the sickest of children did not stop there. He completed an additional three-year fellowship in Pediatric Critical Care at UC San Diego/Rady’s Children’s Hospital; where on his free time he spent additional hours on Critical Care Transports and in the CardioVascular Intensive Care Unit managing post operative neonatal cardiac patients. Now back home in Sacramento, he still actively provides Pediatric Critical Care in both the medical and cardiac ICU. He also is actively engaged in pediatric transports and is working on the creation of a full fledged in house pediatric critical care transport team to serve his community.
Beyond his impressive medical background, Dr. Pham is a devoted family man. With a loving wife and two amazing children, he understands the importance of being an involved father and husband. This personal commitment extends to his professional life, where he strives to provide compassionate and above-standard care while minimizing unnecessary costs and procedures.
Dr. Pham’s vision is to establish Rainbow Kids Urgent Care as the leading pediatric-specific urgent care facility, alleviating the burden on both Primary Care and Emergency Room Physicians. He approaches each patient as if they were his own, embodying a dedication to exceptional care and a genuine concern for the well-being of the community’s children.
When he’s not working, you can expect to find him getting demolished by his daughter in chess, trying to re-live his basketball dreams through his son, or washing dishes at the end of an amazing dinner his wife made. You may also find him testing out some new recipe on his bbq smoker…ensuring he maintains his dad bod he has worked so hard to achieve!
